how i would paint worry

to express my worry
for you
the canvas needs
hundreds of layers of paint
a whirlwind of colors
each one as wild as the next
they mix together
like emotions do
and leave me confused

but the top layer
is grey
grey is for silence
for sadness
for the inevitable sorrow
that is sure to follow
